3. Board shall be charged as follows: $_______ per day for each mare.  The stallion owner shall care for the mare (subject to the terms specified herein) with all reasonable care.  Mare shall be in healthy and sound breeding condition.  Mare owner agrees that the stallion owner has the permission to have the mare treated by a licensed Veterinarian and have normal Veterinarian services performed to insure the mare’s well-being as the stallion owner or the licensed Veterinarian in attendance finds necessary, at mare owners expense.  If any special or particular Veterinarian services are required or desired by the mare owner, this service needs to be specified in writing to the stallion owner when the mare is deposited for service.  Mares should be vaccinated for Rhino as directed by your Veterinarian.   Hay/feed will be provided by:  ___ stallion owner,  or ___ mare owner (please check one).

4. The mare shall be halter broke before she will be accepted.  Hind/rear shoes will be removed from mare.

6. Stallion owner shall attempt, with reasonable diligence to settle the mare; if however, for any reason the mare does not settle, mare owner will hold stallion owner harmless.

7. Stallion owner guarantees live foal from the breeding contracted herein.  Live foal is defined as a foal that stands and nurses without assistance.  Should the mare prove to not be in foal in the year bred or lose her foal, or should the foal not stand and nurse without assistance, mare owner shall notify stallion owner in writing within one week of the foaling date (or date the mare is proved not to be in foal or loses her foal).  Such notice shall be accompanied by a statement from a licensed Veterinarian verifying that the foal is “not live’ as defined above or as been lost as stated above.  Under the foregoing circumstances and upon receipt of the specified notice, it is agreed:  Stallion owner shall give to mare owner a free season to the stallion the following year only and to the same mare originally booked (unless otherwise mutually agreed in writing between mare owner and stallion owner).

8. A Breeder’s Certificate will be issued to mare owner upon notification of the birth of a live foal.
